Sustainability has transformed from being a natural competitive edge to a critical element of doing business for an increasing number of companies and industries. At the same time, the ESG field is developing into an increasingly challenging and complex landscape to navigate, in terms of rising external demands and regulations. Diplomat Communications’ advisors have extensive experience helping companies to successfully navigate the sustainability landscape, allowing us to build strong sustainability communications and positioning.
With eight years to go until the deadline of the United Nations Agenda 2030 goals, expectations on corporate sustainability are increasingly turning into strict demands. Since 2017, large companies in Sweden are obligated to publish a sustainability report. In 2021, new EU regulations on sustainable finances where implemented, resulting in companies’ need to prepare for an upcoming sustainability report requirement, the CSRD. Beyond these stricter rules and regulations, several international frameworks such as GRI, TCFD and Science Based Targets Initiative operate on a voluntary basis that center on improving corporate sustainable practices and raising risk-awareness.
At the same time, more political initiatives are being implemented and so are stricter regulatory demands. This duality has raised the expectation on companies to implement sustainable business practices, both from clients and employees. According to Swedish companies, the main reason behind working sustainably is to build a strong corporate brand, meet consumer expectations and attract talents.
Diplomat Communications’ advisors have extensive experience in helping companies successfully navigate the sustainability field. How can sustainability be utilized in communication and brand positioning? How can we make use of the sustainability work already being done? How should the sustainability report be formulated? What rules or regulations do we need to adhere to? Are there any likeminded partnerships that share our sustainability vision?
We know the rules, nuances, pitfalls, and success factors required for building a strong sustainability communication and positioning.
